Full Day Reef Fishing Private Charter (Blue Whaler)

A private charter on Blue Whaler offers a full day of reef fishing on the Great Barrier Reef with exclusive use of the vessel. It’s an ideal option for groups wanting a private experience, whether that’s a group of mates, families, corporate outings or Christmas parties looking for something a little different.

The charter operates as a full-day private experience, departing from Cairns Marlin Marina, and accommodates 1–12 passengers. Optional snorkelling can be added for groups who would like to include time in the water during the day.

Where snorkelling is selected as an add-on, it is conducted at Michaelmas Cay. We generally recommend snorkelling earlier in the day, followed by fishing, to make the most of conditions and the overall experience.

Departure Details:

Check-in is 6:00am at our Check-In Hub (Shop G10, The Pier Shopping Centre, 1 Pier Point Road, Cairns), with departure shortly after.

A later check-in time may be requested for private charters, however this cannot be guaranteed and is subject to operational requirements. Please contact us prior to booking to discuss availability.

Return is approximately 3:30–4:00pm at Cairns Marlin Marina.

Inclusions:

• Buffet lunch, afternoon tropical fruit and grazing platter
• Fishing equipment, tackle and bait
• Bottled water
• Esky and ice onboard for fish and BYO alcohol (cans only – no glass)
• Skipper and crew
• Catches cleaned and bagged
• Reef tax 

Optional add-on:

• Snorkeling ($350 per charter. Location: Michaelmas Cay)

Fishing locations and activities are selected on the day to suit conditions and provide the best possible experience.

What to bring:

Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, and any additional drinks (BYO mid-strength cans only, no glass).

All charters are subject to weather conditions and final confirmation by the vessel Master.

Please note: Advertised price is $3,800 per vessel. A $700 fuel levy per vessel applies and will be charged in addition to the charter price.
