Congratulations on choosing Brisbane - Hopefully we can show you why some say "Brisbane is the best city on the planet!"
This is a package of 4 tours that are designed to help you to get to know Brisbane- to make you feel welcome and to increase your support network. On each tour we enlighten you with some history of Brisbane and some insights into the local indigenous culture
We provide tips and strategies on safety, transportation, points of interest for students and give you tips on student support services available to you and suggestions of how to build.your social network.
Most meals and drinks are included. Individual tours can be taken separately
Tour 1 - Personalised Tour (3 to 4 hours)
We will do our best to help you get settled in to your new home town.
This is an opportunity to visit various supermarkets and discount stores around your new neighbourhood. We can also show you the various public transport options near your home.
This tour is very flexible - we will personalise it to your situation and hopefully answer all of your questions, take you anywhere- just ask and if it can be done- we'll do our best to help you feel good about your new city.
We think that the content of this tour is very important, so we may be able to arrange a volunteer interpreter on this tour if you prefer. Please let us know if you think you need an interpreter for this tour, All of the other tours are conducted in easy to understand English (with some Aussie slang included).

Tour 2 – Twilight Tour (4 hours)
Week 1 – Wednesday Night
This tour is to help you meet new friends and hopefully by now, you're really starting to love Brisbane!
This tour is a Wednesday evening twilight tour departing from Brisbane CBD at 5PM.
Here you join the tour with other people who are new to Brisbane- just like you.
First we drive up to Mount Coot- tha via some iconic locations along the way. You will enjoy a delicious meal on the peak of Mount Cootha at Kuta Cafe overlooking the beautiful Brisbane skyline, allowing plenty of time to get to know the other people in the group. We will return to the CBD via Southbank Parklands
Free home drop-off (if within 7 km of CBD) at around 8.30 or 9 pm
Tour 3 – Fantastic Farm and Nature Park Tour (7 hours)
Week 1 - Saturday morning
Yummy morning tea and animal feeding included.
· 9am pick up from Brisbane CBD near King George Square
· 10 am arrive at Haigslea EWE Nique Hobby Farm for morning tea and the chance to get up close to some friendly farm animals and birds. You can pat Sheep * Lambs * Alpacas * Goats * Chickens * | enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in a rural setting and enjoy some homemade muffins or cake. You can take some fantastic photos alongside these beautiful animals! Farmers Dave and Penny will be more than happy answer any questions and won't let you leave without making sure you're having a great day
· 11.45 am - Next we head to the well-established Ipswich Nature centre and join a guided tour that features a range of Australian wildlife including Kangaroos, Wallabies, Goanas, Emus and much more. Lush landscaped gardens and exhibits that have been recreated to represent local bushland and flora communities. A light lunch is included after the Nature Park Tour.
· Then we visit the Nerima Japanese Gardens and take a short walk around these beautiful gardens.
· Lastly, to relax after an exciting morning - we head to the Pumpyard Bar and Brewery where you can try a number of local craft beers. The brewery is near the well-known Ungerman Ice-cream shop where you can buy delicious gourmet ice-cream. We will leaving at approximately 3pm getting you back home at around 4pm.

Tour 4 – Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) Day Tour (9 hr)
We conduct this tour regularly. You can join the tour within 12 months.
After your Brisbane CBD pick up around 9.30 am -we drive approximately 45 minutes - we meet the ferry at Cleveland and then travel the steady waters for around 45 minutes to Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island). There is a cafe and toilets on the ferry and it's a beautiful experience heading across to Straddie by ferry as we pass some small Islands on the way over.
· Visit the North Stradbroke Island Historical Museum
· An Exclusive introduction to Delnine Cockatoo-Collins and a tour of her authentic art Gallery and a delicious Lunch at Yarabin Cafe by Minjerribah Ganaba (included in your price) then a short visit to an Historical Museum.
· A short stop at Moyra Springs (look out for Koalas here)
· Then a short drive to take in the scenery at Home Beach.
· Next stop is at Point Lookout at the top of the Island - It has amazing views.
· Take the stunning North Gorge walk. Some say "it's the most spectacular walk in Queensland"
· Enjoy a swim in the surf at Main beach which is usually patrolled by Surf Lifesavers
· We might see some Koalas and Kangaroos in the wild and much more!
· We will arrive back in Brisbane around 6.30 pm (depending on ferry times and traffic).
Complimentary drinks on the bus as well as sunscreen, free use of umbrellas, binoculars and phone charges. Onboard commentary and some history about the Island.
